viii, 398p., 6 pl. The author was born in Eyguires in Provence, he joined the Society of Jesus, taught at the College of Lyon and became prefect of Aix. After the suppression of the Jesuits, he taught humanities in Carpentras, then settled in Paris in 1785 where he joined in the Eudistes community. Imprisoned during the Revolution, he was released July 27, 1794.
